Indeed ten minutes later I find myself outside the parking area to the super huge Blacktown
Westpoint shopping mall. Ah ... true civilisation.

Blacktown has a population of nearly 312,000 people, making it somewhat larger than Penrith. The
CBD is a busy, purposeful looking place with medium rise office blocks and many services. It is
an important transport hub for north western as well as western Sydney commuters. There is a lot
of local industry. Even the high street looks prosperous although it appears to have been renewed
in a way that other such places have not. I anticipate having a good look around at the commencement
of the next stage.
