To our right, Layton Ave passes beneath the railway line to become Mitchells Pass which, in turn
veers away from the railway line. Layton Ave left the highway on the other side of the line and
WOULD have been our original route. It'd have taken longer of course. To our left we spy a large
housing development so typical of those vast residential precincts in Sydney's west. We can truly
see how this part of the world is far more a part of Sydney than it is a part of the mountains.
