I know that this is black & white and would normally be banished to the Monochrome 11 gallery
but then I decided that it might have been interesting enough for the PaD. There has been no heroic
Photoshop work here - merely a little sharpening, contrast and b&w conversion. This is one of those
shots one idly takes on spec, not really expecting any special result. I am afraid I am not even
certain where I was except that it is some over-architectured glass, stainless steel and masonry
commercial building in Sydney, near Circular Quay. Now that I see it again I think it has a Fritz
Lang "Metropolis" film set thing about it.

Yes, it does a bit; the relatively small scale of the people adds to the feel. It's interesting how when you come back to look at shots that were originally intended to be just contingency or backup shots, you find that they can be shots that have become particular favourites. I think I've seen that building but can't for the life of me remember which one it is now.

The columns are huge monoliths making the passers-by as significant as ants on a trail, a very interesting look. V

very nice composition David
you've chosen the right angle: at the right is just a little bit reflection which is a very good choice
well done

The building certainly overpowers the people doesn't it. Nice photograph.
