Look! I know I promised to quit the wide angle habit ... but ... I figure ... one little wide angle
shot can't hurt .... can it? Maybe just a teensy one tomorrow as well .. only a tiny one. Promise!
This is a close up of a Australian gum tree (can't tell which species) Might be a ghost gum. I
shall try to find out. Laine? Lyle? Sylvia? Do you guys know?

Great POV. I think the majority view is please continue with wide angle. As for 'what tree is that?' my eucalypt book starts by stating 'The identification of eucalypt species can be very daunting...'. First 'crush a leaf...', next 'look for woody capsules or flower buds...'. Lokks like someone will have to climb that tree!

My best guess is it's either called 'firehazardus australianus' or 'possumous escalatus 2 powerlinus'.

A childs point of view, I knew there would be good shots from that. Now to give it its long and meaningful name, "Attenuated Grey Eucy Gumy Vegy Longafolia Thingo". Now I think I got that right. As for the common name I am not sure but if it grows to full size where it is it will be a definate pain in the butt.

As a kid I would climb it as an adult I am thinking it might be close to those wires. Oh yea and imagine climbing it. Great shot.
