OH275.jpg

A few metres past the track to the lighthouse is the HMAS Sydney Memorial. The Royal Australian
Navy has had FOUR ships named "HMAS Sydney". The first was a light cruiser launched in 1913, seeing
service during the First World War. In a particularly famous action, she engaged and sank the
German Cruiser, Emden. The tripod mast on display, here, comes from that vessel. Information and
tributes to ALL fours ships are on display here.
