- I was awarded the Driver's Badge for years of safe driving in Korea under the most extreme weather conditions of constant monsoon seasonal rain fronts in the summer and bitter cold snowy and icy roads in the winter. The year that preceeded this award I drove regularly from Yongin to Seoul coordinating important concerns between the Eighth US Army and the Third ROK Army and as a courier of classified documents; both tasks warranted approval by the Colonel/O6 Commander to drive a 4X4 van even under "Red" road conditions with inclement weather.
- After later becoming certified as Master Driver I went on to train, test and recommend dozens of other troops for this Driver's Badge.
