These are a permanent installation, a perfect setting for a leisurly surreal stroll.
One strange feature is that there are a couple of places where the placement of the rolled steel panels creates an almost bizarre echo.
I can't imagine this phenomenon was planned. It was almost like an electronic tape delay effect.
The NY Times says "sound here is a surprising, felicitous factor, the works acting like echo chambers in Mr. Gehry's cavernous gallery."
