We often walk home from midtown performance venues and when we find ourselves near Times Square at 10:30pm we stop by to see the Newsies 'boys'.
Disney brought the show into the rather drab Nederlander Theater on 41st Street expecting a limited run. To their surprise it was a huge hit.
From the beginning, the cast, from the star on down to the the juvenile, have come out after the show to greet the fans.
It's funny that when we saw the show in April two days after we arrived in the city we didn't know about this and didn't stay.
But we've made up for that on several occasions since.
We wait outside with some other dedicated fans and especially like that when they throw open the doors you can see the last flying curtain call leap of one of the dancers.
The show and the post show meet and greet has made 'stars' out of guys who would nornmally be just very minor characters or simply members of the chorus.
