DSCN3139 Laser Rainbow.jpg

Most nights we take a walk around the neighborhood and one night we turned the corner onto Bleecker Street and saw this.
Quite spectacular and totally unexpected! We later read that it could be seen 70 miles away.
(Of course, many New Yorkers had no idea it was there because they normally only see a tiny portion of the sky)
Since it's trajectory seemed to be constantly changing and we were walking around it kept presenting itself differently depending on where we were.
It lasted at least one more night. In the papers the next morning we discovered that it was a public art project, a tribute to the 'survivors of Hurricane Sandy'
To be truthful though, words and explanations seemed superfluous. Even these photos barely convey the delightful thrill it gave us when we first turned that corner.
