This is an older picture taken on April 14, 2000. It was a magical day. We walked all over the city with our friend Jon.... from the PATH train stop at 33rd Street and Sixth, over to the UN and then to the northern end of the park and then back down to West 72nd Street. Walking beneath the cherry blossoms by the reservoir, where this was taken, was perhaps the most memorable moment. Strangely enough, the next day we awoke to find three inches of snow on the ground, with more still falling. Jon died on September 11, 2001 (He worked at the World Trade Center). Since then we have often thought it would be nice to return to this spot. Last year we arrrived a bit too late.... only a few blossoms were still were open. But this year, here we are with Jon in spirit....
