This was my (David's) favorite artwork on this trip, an architectural fragment from Isfahan, formerly Persia, now Iran. I somehow sensed that it was behind me and it spun me around. A photograph can't really do justice to the magical power I felt that it possessed... This was in the Smithsonian Sackler Gallery of Asian Art.
