In the United states we had seen an Argentinian movie, filmed in Uruguay, called "XXY". David especially was intrigued by it´s location: a town named Piriápolis, because it seemed so unlike the two big, famous, beach resorts: Mar del Plata in Argentina and Punta del Este in Uruguay. It seemed almost impossibly old fashioned. So we made a "pilgrimage" on a chilly and cloudy autumn day (one and a half hours in each direction on the bus from Montevideo)
