| This gallery presents images from 4 shorts birding trips made to some of the Macaronesian Islands in the Atlantic Ocean over the 2007-2017 period. In August 2007, I visited Madeira and the Desertas Islands while in December 2011, I travelled to the Canary Islands where I visited Fuerteventura (9-10 December) and Tenerife (11 December), in search of Macaronesian endemics and other specialities. In September 2013, I returned briefly to the Canary Islands, this time for a pelagic excursion at Banco de la Concepcion ca. 70km to the NE of Lanzarote (14-15 September), while more recently I visited again Fuerteventura (27-30 December 2017) to twitch and photograph the long-staying Dwarf Bittern! This gallery has 101 images depicting 26 bird species. |
