| I first visited Cape Verde and Santiago Island from 25-28 February 2012 in order to see 2 bird species of very rare occurrence in the Western Palearctic (Black Heron & Intermediate Egret). This twitching trip also provided me with the opportunity to photograph most of the Cape Verde specialities. Six years later, I returned on 03-07 June 2018 to Sao Nicolau Island, with daily boat trips off the island (in the vicinity of Razo and Branco Islets) in search of several endemic species that we had missed during the previous trip. This gallery has 100 images depicting 17 species. |
