The Mother Road - Route 66, 2010

This year's journey along fabled historic Route 66 brought forth from my photographs a wealth of image. As usual, I was accompanied by Ken Rockwell and a talented group of photographers from around the world.

The photographs are divided more or less by themes: found objects, people, reflections, signs, animals, a bit of nature.

Route 66 is as much a state of mind now as it is a place. Much of the old road symbolizes the foundering of the American Dream; yet much of it celebrates the very act of dreaming, remembering and creating a sense of history that may or may not conform to the confines of reality.

Hi Dave,

This is an outstanding series of images that gives one the rich flavor of the "Mother Road!" My favorites are "Reverse Reflection" and "Reflection at the Salt Works." Bravo!!!
