Route 66 Motel, Barstow, California, USA

This photograph was made on the 2002 photography workshop along a remote stretch of Route 66.

We'll do it again, in 2004. Visit my Rollei webpage, http://home.attbi.com/~wymanburke/The_Rollei_Page.html as well as the Image Square webpage, http://cgi.linkclub.or.jp/~dmakos/imgsquare/ which features another gallery of Rolleiflex images by a variety of photographers.

I stopped by on my way through to see if this place was still. Boy was I surprised! It looked great. Met the owners and took some pics. It really does look like a Smallville set. Don't every go away Route 66. I'll be back.

I've been there yesterday!!!
On my way back from Las Vegas I accidentley took old Highway 58 instead of the new one, luckily, because I was sure glad to find out I'm on historic route 66.
The place doesn't look that good now.The E and L in the sign are burned out, and by the photos I took I can't see the wind mill you have over there.
Anyway, if you want an updtaed photo contact me.

Love this shot! This has been a dream of mine - to drive as much of original Route 66 as is still intact! Wonderful capture of such a nostalgic piece of American history!
