The White Pass and Yukon Route Railroad, in the mountains east of Skagway, travels past brilliant fireweed, the offical state flower of Alaska. I made the photo from the platform of our train car as it snaked its way around a tight curve. The foreground is a bit blurry, but then the train was moving at a pretty good clip.
