Sierra Dawn

The White Mountains, home of the Bristlecones, lie east of the Sierra Nevada mountain. The ridge in the foreground is part of the Whites - the Sierras rise out of the Owens Valley, not visible in this picture. The snow fields that are visible, beneath the grantie summits, are glaciers, notably the Middle Palisade and North Palisade glaciers.
