The Hoba meteorite is the largest known single meteorite on Earth,
weighing an estimated 60 tonnes and composed of roughly 84% iron and 16% nickel.
It lies on the farm Hoba West near Grootfontein, Namibia. Despite its massive size, it left no
impact crater, likely because it slowed to terminal velocity before landing.
