Kealakekua Bay

Hawai'i (Big Island), Hawai'i, USA

Just to the left of this scene and across the bay is a white obelisk,
the Captain Cook monument, erected in 1874 by British Sailors.
It was near this spot in 1779 that Captain James Cook was killed by the Hawaiians.
