View from the sofa at one end toward the dining area and kitchen. You can see part of the washing machine and dryer, which had the most complicated set instruction manuals I've ever seen. They were manufactured in Germany, and had a seemingly endless number of possible options you'd choose depending on the fabric, and (for the dryer) water content left by the washing machine, spin duration and RPM, etc. Doing one load of clothes took all day. It would have been much easier going to a coin laundry down the street.
