This was taken when Sparrow, the runt of the litter, was only about three months old and weighed less than three pounds. She could literally fit in the palm of your hand. In the background is "Felix", a 550 pound male lion at the Kapama Game Preserve in South Africa that I took many pictures of on a photo safari in 2005. At two years of age Sparrow has grown into a beautiful female and weighs roughly 7 - 8 pounds. Lithe in the extreme, she regularly "beats up" her bigger sister Sylvia and much bigger brother, Bruiser (weighing in at almost 18 pounds now!). A specialist at hit-and-run attacks, all the other cats give her the respect she has exacted. Fortunately, she's a real sweetheart to humans and *usually* with her feline companions.....
