Sadly only record shots of this but this singing male was a life bird for me .... thanks to Andy Warr's tenacity. A very steep climb into a wadi in the hills above the Dead Sea resulted in this scarce species being located after a long search. At one time 20 plus years ago you could see them in the Moon Mountains near Eilat howerver they no longer occur there so a long trip is the order of the day now. A recent split from House Bunting, which it was lumped with last time I visited and as a result of seeing House Bunting frequently in Morocco in 1990 and 1991 I handn't put myself out to see this race during my previous visit to Israel.
