A life bird for me. These lovelies were one of c.10 pairs seen in a small area of remaining mature woodland between Azrou and Ifrane in the Middle Atlas Mountains of Morocco. Not easy to photograph as they spend most of the time , as expected, in the canopy as shown in the header photo above. The only opportunities came when the female would drop to head height or lower to collect nesting material at the base of the nesting tree. Very occasionally the male would accompany her particularly between dawn and mid morning.
