2020: The Boyette YDNA Surname Project has conducted advanced Y700 testing on two lines in the US (KY/TN and FL) and one line in the UK (Dorset). It was discovered that the lines in the US are closely related but the line in the UK are of a considerable distance to the common male ancestor. However, since they have the same general surnames (Boyatt in KY/TN, Boyett in FL and Boyt in Dorset, the time may be closer to when surnames came into use about 1066 in England. Many ancient records from the 1300's and 1400's have been located in the Isle of Purbeck, Dorset along with ancient professions of Royal Marblers or Reeves that are associated with Boyt and Boyte. Marriage records from the 1600's would indicate related families of Haviland and Cockram in and around Corfe Castle. This area was previously Saxon. Additional BigY testing in the UK and US is needed.
