To the Honourable Coll. Lewis Dorassett to lett you know the full curcumstances that my Company is in we have collours and has sent for a Drum and as for other arms but very poorly fixed but few guns and no ammunition nor none to be had of any consequinces. So as your honour or his Excellency is desirous to know from you inferor so Comd.

Commissions for Johnston County

Richard Cogdell to be Capt. of a Troop of Horse in said County
Martin Caswell Capt. of the Company lately commanded Francis Mackelwean who resigned

Robert Bryant Capt of the Company lately commanded by Wm. Boykin who has removed out of the county and I think out of the Province.

William Bryan Capt. of a Company to consist of all the inhabitants by law lying out of Black River Creek on the South side of Nuse River up the River landing Hintons thence to the mouth of white oak swamp on creek and thence to bound and so down the said bound and Greens path to Black creek and down the said cre River.

John McCullom Capt of a Company to consist of all the inhabitant s by law lyable to bear from the mouth of white oak swamp on Swift Creek and on all the branches of the three C above the said swamp to the extent of the county.

Edward Moseley Capt of a Company to consist of all the inhabitants by law lyable to bear river from above the mouth of Parsells (?) Creek on the N. Side of Nuse River running up the creek a direct line to the county line

As I cannot tale the names of proper persons for Lieutenants or Ensigns for the above Companys of foot should be glad to have blank commisssions to fill up in conse and cause.
