Their son, Thomas Benton Boyatt was born September 3, 1839, and died December 24th, 1898. He joined the Union Army in 1861 and fought with the 50th Indiana Infantry. He reached the rank of Lt. Colonel. At the time of his death he was President of the Peoples State Bank of Brownstown, Indiana. He married Sally Rebecca Beem April 4, 1867.

My father, Lynn C. Boyatt, the last surviving child of Thomas Benton and Sally was born July 14, 1884. He went to College at Ohio Normal, became an engineer, served in the 308th Ohio Engineers in World War I 1917 and 18. At the end he was a Major and Batallion Commander . He was also in the Army of Occupation in 1919. He married Florine Cloar, my mom, in 1929, and I was born March 4, 1933. Dad was an engineer and businessman until he died in January 1948.
