Mrs. Alice L. Ballard, 79, widow of Kay "Doc" B. Ballard, of Greenville, died Monday, July 1, 2013 and continued into the next journey of her life. Born in Jasper, Alabama, she was the daughter of the late H. Wade and Alice Bird Lawless. Alice loved many things; mostly her family, friends, nature and the arts. She attended Stephens College in Missouri and the University of Alabama. She married her high school sweetheart and spent many years in the family business, the former Bruce & Doster Rexall Drug Company. They had two magnificent children who were with her during her illness and passing.

Surviving are a son, Wade (Karen) Ballard of Spartanburg; a daughter, Alicia (Neal) Tracy of Chalfont, PA and 4 grandchildren, James and Lauren Ballard and Brittany and Charles Tracy.

The family will receive friends 2 - 3:30 pm Wednesday, July 3, at The Mackey Mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Greenville County, Interim Hospice or the Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.
