I don't know if this bass was ever even offered in a fretless version. I was the fourth owner and the previous owner wasn't sure it came fretless from the factory or not. I also tracked down the 2nd owner, who was pretty knowledgeable about Ibanez models, and he's the one who first told me that it might not have come from the factory fretless. He also said that if it was defretted after it was bought then it's the best defret he's ever seen. I can't tell, so I'd agree with that.
