Stately Homes and National Trust Houses

These are some of the Stately Homes, National Trust, English Heritage properties and Private Gardens in Staffordshire,Cheshire,Derbyshire,Yorkshire,Herefordshire and Warwickshire.
Unfortunately, the National Trust does not allow photographs to be taken inside their properties so I am unable to bring to you the splendour of some of these houses......EDIT: with effect from 2011 you can now take internal photographs of some National Trust properties subject to the agreement of the Property Manager.

What wonderful photos! I particularly love your shots of Biddulph Grange's gardens, Fountain Abbey and the interiors at Castle Howard. Now I can put these on my list of "must see's" when I make it to England.

I enjoyed looking at this gallery very much. You took some beautiful shots of some great houses. I visited most of the houses pictured in your gallery when I lived in Sale, Cheshire in the mid 80's. Unfortunately, there were no digital camreas back thenm. Thanks for bringing back fond meories.

Thank you I was a nuse at Biddulph Grange 1949 I have great memories. I remmber which room I shared in the grange itself wjhich was the nurses home then. The gardens were wll looked after at that time. I have been back recently so pleased that the National Trust has them. I wonder what has happened to the Grange itself.

I forgot to add that, from an art teacher's perspective, your work shows strong compositional skills. It's all there; good use of line, form, colour,texture. Focal points are well defined.

You have no idea how happy I was to see these photos. I used to live in Chester, and yet never visited Moreton Hall!Looking out at the snow of a Canadian winter, it is great to be transported back to England through the magic of the internet. Thank you.
