My dad, Bill Livingston, over the years was a sponsor, coach and President of the League. Me and my brothers also played for several years.

I was in Neodesha last summer (2013) and saw two Barney's fields now in use with lots of families in attendance. I must admit I teared up a bit. When my Grandpa Barney started this in the 1950's he could never have imagined that it would capture the spirit and support of a community and still be in place all these years later. He recruited players, coaches, umpires, and sponsors. He prodded businesses to buy uniforms, including the matching calf socks just like the big leagues. He found a way so that a boy with no baseball shoes or glove, got both and could participate. It is just wonderful that since his death in 1961 others have picked up his torch and kept it going. He loved baseball, but would be amazed by the community support that has endured these many years.
