Gradually, excruciatingly so, the ceiling of the Mulu sump rises affording more comfortable breathing. Soon, the passage becomes confortable walking height. Photography in this section is very difficult. By following the cavers through the sump I was able to capture some images, but shooting with only 8 inches of air is difficult at best. In trying to keep the camera out of the water I kept scraping the pop-up flash against the ceiling!
