In preparation of the 2012 Venus transit of the sun, I spent a lot of time and money readying my equipment for the event. One thing I failed to realize is that, from the standpoint of my permanent observatory, the sun would set behind trees before the transit even began! So, a quick order from Astro-Physics had this portable pier delivered in time. Therefore I had to take the entire setup and move it to the front yard for the event!
