Andrew Medulić Schiavone / Meldolla Andrea Schiavone ( Zadar or Nadin, 1510 . - 1515 . - Venetians , 1563 .), Renaissance painter and printmaker, one of the most prominent representatives of Italian Mannerism .
As a younger contemporary of Julius Klovića , he worked mainly in the Venetians . He belonged to the Titian circle, and his mannerism forerunner of the Baroque . His work is a true colorist transformation, but will totally respect achieved only in retrospect, in the 17th century and later.
In his drawings and engravings feel strong influence Parmigianini with whom he probably taught in Bologna and Parma. Medulić is in Venice was one of the foremost representatives of mannerist painting, a mid- 16th century influenced the young Titian and Tintoretto .
In Italy, one of the first independent radio landscape. He also worked drawings, etchings, frescoes and oil paintings. In numerous etchings introduced a new technique of dry needles . Pronounced dynamic characters and unusual lighting effects, he emerged as one of the most important personalities of Italian painting Cinquecento ( High Renaissance ).
His works are held in major European museums and galleries in Vienna Kunsthistoriches Musem, Florentine Uffizi Gallery and the Pitti , in Venice, but also fund Graphic Collection NSK in Zagreb. Medulićeva famous painting is "Wedding of the Venetian Doge to the sea" in the church. Marco in Venice.
