With all the rain we've been having I decided to hike the Wildcats via the ski trails to avoid any difficult water crossings and wet trails. It was a perfect choice and my niece joined me for a really fun hike. We paid the $10 to hike up the ski trails and stayed all the way to the left like hikers are supposed to. Some of ski trails were closed from lack of snow and too much ice, some were marked "not groomed", but where there was manmade snow the walk up and down was a delight on an icy packed powder base and Hillsounds worked perfectly. The ridge had a few inches of fresh powder over an icy packed trail. Conditions were really nice today, a bit breezy and chilly but we were geared up for it.
