Finished hiking Waumbek for the grid ... not my favorite time of year for this hike but it was still very nice. I like this one in spring when the wildflowers are blooming and in the winter. I finished in less than 4 hrs, moving time was 3.5 hrs so I guess I did ok. Saw a ton of people for a Friday hike, probably 30 in total, mostly new hikers. Everyone was polite, more than half wore masks (I had a buff) and overall a nice day to be out. I was hoping to see some Canada Jays but the last few times I've been up there I haven't seen any. I used to see them on Starr King and Waumbek regularly. Maybe its the time of year, not sure. Another one done for the grid!! Two peaks left for August then I'm off until November. I'll keep hiking, we're working on Maine now and I'll go up and visit some favorites to keep in shape but closing in. 36 peaks to go.
