We went out and back from Beaver Brook for this one and as always it was a long day. 16.5 miles with 4800 ft of ascent elevation is a kicker. The views were socked in but cleared a little when we got down to Galehead. South twin is one of my favorite peaks, even the relentless uphill climb to the summit doesn't do me in any more. This hike took about an hour less than the last time I went this way. 86% complete on the grid now with only 80 peaks to finish!! So glad to have my niece join me on this one!!
