I decided to bag some peaks and hiked Tom, Field Willey, 9.8 miles, about 3700 ft of ascent. I had to switch to crampons. Huge ice bulges on the Avalon trail which is very steep and the snow that fell the day before was sticky so I used crampons because they don't ball up. I ended up getting my fastest time on this hike even though I felt like I was slow as molasses. Going down was hard, super slippery, narrow sidewise sloping trail coming down Tom. Gorgeous clouds when they started to lift and the view from Willey was amazing!
