Perfect September weather for this almost 17 mile hike to Owl's Head, a peak I used to dread but now enjoy each time I visit. The remoteness, the solitude, the long walk along the brook, just a peaceful way to escape from day to day life. We did the Black Pond bushwhack and then went up the slide. Water crossings were low. Returned on Brutus bushwhack which was easy to follow except near the gulley. Used Gaia to stay on track when the trails disappeared in the bushwhacks.
