Hiked the long trek to Owls Head on a beautiful day -- there was a few inches of fresh snow on the ground so we broke out the bushwhacks, Black Pond was a little hard to follow in spots so we were off a few times but not that bad, Brutus was easier and we stayed close all the way except for one small section. The water crossings were not that bad, the first one was easy, second was the worst because the ice was unstable and the third was pretty solid at least yesterday it was. Always a gorgeous hike out in the Wilderness and I was glad to have company as this one is 16.5 miles round trip. The most memorable thing about the day is we didn't see a single person, not even on the Lincoln Woods trail.
