One of the toughest hikes I've done in a while and usually this one is fairly easy to finish. Conditions going up East Osceola were very mixed, lots of ice, slushy snow, bare rock and water. Toward the top there was a lot of ice so I ended up using crampons to go down, mostly because my spikes were very dull and I didn't want to take the chance. It took over an hour longer than usual to finish but then most hikes lately are taking longer because of the conditions. I tend to be cautious and am trying to avoid injuries so I'd rather be slower and get out safe when the conditions are as difficult as they are right now.
