The plan today was to hike the Osceolas from the Greeley Pond trailhead but I actually turned around about a half mile from the Mt. Osceola summit. First the parking lot was not plowed and I almost got stuck just turning my Range Rover around... It was really cold today but I had plenty of gear to stay warm. The problem was the drifted snow from blowing winds overnight that obliterated the trail and left sections where I had to plow through knee to thigh deep drifts - I had snowshoes on. Almost turned around about 2 miles in because I knew if it was that bad down low it would be worse between the peaks. Ended up summiting East Osceola then headed to Osceola and made it half way across but the snow was so deep it was up to my thighs with no end in sight and by then I was starting to get cold...turned around but still a great day!
