Spring is here and the trails are melting, mud, soft snow, monorail and postholes. Tough time to be hiking but its part of the experience. We went up the Glencliff trail, the same route that took a man's life a week and a half ago. He went up on a day when it was severe wind and cold and got lost at the summit. They found him heading down a different trail. The trail was packed pretty well from the recovery effort but heading down was very difficult with lots of postholes and slippery wet slushy snow. Nice company and great views this time just a bit somber thinking about the fatality. We never find out what really happened.
