Visited Maine and finished 5 more of the 4thousand footers in the Carabasset Valley region. Spaulding to Abraham from Caribou Pond Rd ended up being 17 miles with 4600 ft of ascent elevation....long one but we wanted to hike that section of the AT. Spaulding was a wooded summit, barely over 4000 ft. Abraham was a beautiful treeless summit with huge scree slopes reminding us of some peaks in the White Mountains. Long day, perfect hiking weather, and beautiful trails! We even ran into a friend from NH when we were coming back from Abraham!
