Hiked Mt. Madison on a perfect presi day and made a nice loop by going up Airline, experiencing the incredible views into King Ravine, then heading over to Madison Hut and up to the summit. We returned on the well travelled Valley Way. Airline is still an obstacle course with at least a quarter mile of blowdowns to maneuver around from the October storm. Plenty of snow and ice below treeline above 3000 ft. and we used spikes for some sections. Deep snow on the cutoff to the hut required some careful footing but still managed to get swallowed in thigh high post holes a couple of times. Gorgeous day with great company!
