Isolation 31Aug2019

Mount Isolation is never easy to get to, mud, water and plenty of blowdowns to maneuver around but so worth the 14.5 mile hike for the view! We took the Rocky Branch trail which I'd never hiked in its entirety -- usually breaking away for the Engine HIll Bushwhack but this time staying on the almost dry trail. We were surprised to see so many people way out there in the wilderness but everyone was friendly. For me the birds were the best part of the day, a visit from a Spruce Grouse, Cedar Waxwings, Warblers, Chickadees and a couple of Swainsons Thrush on the way out and back. Wish I could figure out how to hike with a bird camera!
