I always love the loop over the Hancocks....peaceful forest walk. We were first out and first up North Hancock and it was snowing so we broke trail most of the way to South. There is so much snow up there you end up standing on top of the trees on the North summit and the view would be visible but it was a cloudy day. My favorite butt slide down South was ruined by bare booters kicking steps all the way up so put the snowshoes back on and had to walk down a lot sooner than usual. Most of the people we saw today weren't wearing snowshoes...hard to believe with 6 ft of snow up there.
