We started a little later than normal and it worked out for us! On the way up Bridle Path we met 5 hikers who'd turned around because of high winds and whiteout conditions on the ridge so we were crossing our fingers the weather would change. By the time we got to the hut it looked like things were starting to clear plus it really wasn't that windy. Layered up and went up to the summit of Lafayette and the clouds disappeared, the wind died down and it was gorgeous! Lot's of people out because it was Sunday but it was so worth it and one of the most beautiful visits to the ridge! Hard packed snow all the way, no need for snowshoes or crampons but we carried them anyway.
