Great hike for cloudy, cold conditions with just enough snow to make it really comfortable hiking with micro spikes. About 5.7 miles, 2387 ft of ascent elevation, and one final almost view of Crawford Notch, NH from Mount Avalon, a peak we passed several times before but never had time to stop. Still a beautiful day and always a pleasure to be out in the forest on a snowy trail. Gray Jays followed us back down Field and entertained as always.
