Mt. Carrigain is a beautiful hike although with Sawyer River Rd. closed indefinitely the 10 mile hike turns into 14 and it is a long day. The trail is in great shape, just a little ice above 3900 ft, water crossings were a little high but a good pair of boots worked fine. We heard a barred owl in the morning, very exciting! The tower is also closed because the railing fell off in the October storm so what used to be one of the most fabulous views in the White Mountains is no longer available. Nice hike on a great day!
